We launched 8x in 10 weeks to go from 0 → $1M in creator budgets on Scout. Here is everything we launched and the playbook for what worked.

Over the past 10 weeks we have done 8 launch videos, each introducing a new feature or celebrating a milestone. Each has compounded Scout’s growth.

This has been one of our bigger growth levers to-date, so I thought I would share. More on the playbook below. (BTW, next week we are planning our biggest launch yet!)

Our loop is pretty simple:

  • ship a major feature every week

  • create a compelling video about it

  • plan/make the announcement

  • drive new signups AND repeat sessions

  • collect feedback to build next feature

  • repeat

What We Launched

  1. Scout v1 agent

  2. Creator email lookups

  3. Hit 50K creators listed

  4. Email outreach

  5. Live-updates on creator searches

  6. Scout MCP for Claude & ChatGPT

  7. Upload your own creator lists

  8. Advanced audience stats

Pretty much every launch came from user feedback; a comment, DM, sales call, etc - each solving or improving upon something that at least 1 user had explicitly asked for.

The Playbook

  1. pick 1 feature that could stand alone as a product and build the MVP

  2. make a 30-60s video. doesnt have to be fancy; screen recording with tools like Screen Studio or Loom is enough. You can also do your own in-house motion graphics with Remotion or Higgsfield (barrier to entry on these has dropped A TON recently)

  3. plan the video around the hook- open with something that stops the scroll. Something like “introducing the first X for Y” or “today were replacing X...”

  4. reach out ahead of time to anyone you think will be willing or compelled to share. For the first one you can probably reach out to everyone you know. After a few you need to get more creative- announce features early to existing users via newsletter. Join founder groups and share each others posts- the more you can get ahead of asking ppl to share once it is live the better

  5. once you post, push it by hand in the first hour. DM to friends / customers / investors, split it into a variety of posts across platforms (blogs, recaps, deepdives, guides, etc) - the first 60min decides whether the algo will pick it up

  6. once you have launched; follow up the next day with more content (ICYMI, reactions, etc) - for bigger launches, ideally get other people (UGC, creators, influencers) to post or interact with it in their own words. you can even put paid ads to boost after a few days for some extra juice

  7. if it flops, no one saw it :) launch again next week

Why It Works

  1. impressions: launch is a reason to look

  2. forcing function: keeps us shipping meaningfully

  3. conversations: ppl bring up launches weeks later

  4. alt fuel: use them behind paid ads / SEO

  5. compounding: simply showing back up drives repeat engagement

Launch videos are getting easier to make. The moat is no longer making the video, its having something worth launching.

Biggest one yet next week!
