Day 13 of building Scout to 1,000 users by the end of summer. Click here if you missed Day 12 yesterday.
1) Signups
Were at 142 users today. The goal was 150 by the end of last week, so we are close but not there yet. It keeps climbing, mostly one user at a time through word of mouth and content like these videos.
That works, but it does not compound on its own, so the real question is how do I open a channel that scales.
2) What Im Working On
Today I am setting up paid ads on LinkedIn and Twitter. Growth so far has come from me posting every day and talking to people directly, and I need a few other strategies that do not depend entirely on me showing up.
Step one is tracking, wiring our backend into LinkedIn and Twitter so I can see when someone visits the site, signs up, and creates a paid account.
Step two is a basic campaign at around 30 dollars a day, about as low as you can go, running a few of our best performing posts from the past month to find a baseline.
The beautiful thing about paid ads is that once the baseline is there, you can optimize from it.
3) The Ask
For anyone who has run paid ads before, whats your advice for kicking off a first campaign?
I think I have an idea, but honestly I am figuring this out as I go, so tell me what you would do first.
Peace,
Ramsey
